Our work
Real homes, real neighbors
Every project here is told the way it happened, from what we found underneath to what we would do differently. Names are the ones the homeowners agreed to.
Custom homes
-
Appaloosa Way custom home, Walburg, TX
The seventh house we built in the same community, on the last lot, and the most refined version of a plan we had been improving for years.
-
North Lynn Street, Taylor, TX
The foundation had failed past repair, so the house came down. I bought the lot myself, which means the money I spent getting the dirt right was my own.
-
Summer Oaks custom home
Water was crossing the back of the lot and the covenants wanted the house fifty feet back, behind the trees they wanted to keep. So before we broke ground I went to see the neighbors, and then the HOA.
Whole-home remodels
-
Wallace whole-home remodel, Taylor, TX
A whole-home remodel in Taylor where almost everything changed except the thing that mattered most: the original steel casement windows on the front.
-
McIntyre residence, Lake Travis
Down to the piers and back up three stories, with two different kinds of foundation underneath asking to behave like one. Our third project for this couple.
Kitchens and additions
-
Hoover residence: addition, then kitchen
A home office for a family with six boys, and a kitchen with load-bearing columns in the middle of it. Two projects, months apart. They called us back for the second one.
-
El Cielo garage, game room and pool house, Leander, TX
A three-car garage with a game room above it, a pool-house bath, and a covered patio that wasn't allowed to block the Hill Country view. We had to build the whole thing backwards.
-
Stillhouse kitchen remodel, Round Rock, TX
A seven-foot kitchen ceiling with fluorescent lights under dropped oak, and a laundry room out in the garage. They'd lived with both for thirty years. A competing builder sent them to us.
