Many of Austin’s modern homes are situated on timeless terrain. Our rivers and lakes make for spectacular views and particular challenges, notably steep grades. One hillside home belonged to a local artist who called on Flenn Homes to make real her vision for the property. What was a one-story house with a storage area below it was transformed. Another level was added to contain both the master suite and garage. This not only helped tame what had been a treacherous driveway, it took the house over the treetops and the views of the lake over the top. A shed roof and new windows let in more light. And the storage area became a functional but comfortable studio where the artist works today.
